Family Council

Hello. We are St. Lawrence Lodge Family Council.

We are caregivers and loved ones of residents at St Lawrence Lodge. We meet once a month to be a voice for all residents and caregivers. The goal is to communicate, improve, enrich, and educate.

Family Council at St. Lawrence Lodge consists of a member from each wing of the Lodge. We meet with the administration on the third Thursday of each month to bring forward areas of concern, to offer ideas for improvement, and to learn about the latest news from St Lawrence Lodge.

Family Councils are mandated in the Fixing Long-Term Care Act. Family Council is an integral part of oversight for Long Term Care Homes. We look to bring forward ideas to improve the experience of residents and caregivers in their time at St. Lawrence Lodge. We review critical care incident reports from the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care. We advocate on behalf of all residents and families with an awareness of Resident Bill of Rights.
